Program Overview

                                              Description

Rongbuk Monastary

Traveling overland the program takes students from the ancient Yellow River and the Yangtze River Basin to the high grasslands and deep valleys of the Tibetan Plateau. Students will address research questions and engage in projects that involve contemporary environmental, economic and social issues.


This multidisciplinary field research program is set against the backdrop of geat social and economic change The program is a unique opportunity to explore a large part of Asia in depth. As the participants travel overland the important geographical, historical and cultural factors that define these landscapes will be explored
