About the Trossingen University of Music

Trossingen University of Music offers its students the traditional canon of subjects of a music academy. Unique focal points are the study of Early Music as well as the artistic and artistic-pedagogical courses in Music & Movement (rhythmics). In the south of Baden-Württemberg, the University of Music fulfills a far-reaching cultural mission. It sees itself as a partner, initiator and creative opponent. The close ties between its students and alumni and this region are unique. They conduct choirs and orchestras, teach, and design concerts. The economy speaks of prosperity-promoting soft location factors. The Trossingen University of Music enjoys an international reputation that is shown through the many different international partnerships it has been able to develop. The broad international environment provides a lively network of artistic activities and music pedagogical experiences.

CSU IP's programs in Germany are administered by full-time local CSU staff. The program begins with an intensive six-week Intensive Language Program (ILP) in Horb, a small town near Tübingen. The ILP is a German language and culture course focusing on grammar, composition, and conversation, as well as an introduction to German culture. Students then move to Trossingen to continue their studies and enroll in one German course in addition to other coursework.

Please note that Trossingen’s application deadline is earlier than other CSU IP partner universities; the deadline to apply for this program is January 15th. The CSU IP application and all materials for Trossingen (audition, original score, resume) must be submitted by this date. Application materials will be evaluated by the Trossingen University of Music to determine admissions eligibility. Complete application instructions can be found in your CSU IP application.
