Program Description:

Study Abroad in Rome

Through a unique partnership between Providence College (PC) and CEA CAPA, you’ll explore Rome’s rich religious history in a cultural and religious crossroads for today's Roman Catholic Church. Professors utilize Rome as an extension of the classroom, teaching at sites like the Vatican Museums, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the Catacombs of San Callisto. On-site activities and team assignments help you learn through experience, while an Italian language course contribute to your ability to communicate. You may choose to enroll in the internship seminar and complete an internship placement. In the fall semester, you may also add an optional elective course through our partner, LUISS University (LUISS).

Semester/Term Eligibility Requirements Rec. Semester Credits

Where You'll Study

Students take classes at the CEA CAPA Rome Center, and at the Providence College Center.
The CEA CAPA Rome Center is in the vibrant Prati neighborhood, within walking distance of Vatican City, Castel Sant’Angelo, and other UNESCO World Heritage sites. This central location makes it easy to visit galleries, museums, art studios, local businesses, historic sites, food markets, and more—all designed to bring lessons taught in the classroom to life.
Our unique collaboration with Providence College allows you to take courses at the Providence College Center and study theology and religion in the very heart of Christendom. Long a religious and cultural crossroads, Rome is the ideal place to delve into religious studies as you explore significant sites such as St. Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museums, and the Catacombs of Santa Priscilla.
Students will receive a transcript from CEA CAPA’s School of Record, and from Providence College upon completion of their program.
